Bethany comeback falls short

Bethany plated six runs in the home half of the final inning, but fell one run short as they dropped their season opener 14-13.
The big hit for Bethany was a 3 Run homer off the bat of Tom Bruscato in the 2nd inning. Meanwhile, Mary O'Neill's Wrecking crew belted two home runs (both by their clean up hittter) and outhit Bethany 21-18.
Pacing the Bethany bats on the day was Jack Sischo with a team high 4 knocks including a double that was rung up the right-centerfield gap. Tom and Jack shared team high honors for RBIs with 3 apiece. While Matt Wagenmaker led the way in touching the dish with 3 runs for the home team.
Joining the extra base hit parade for Bethany were Ricky Jordan and Nick Manning who both smacked doubles in the contest. In the field, the assists leaders for the day were Ricky and Matt who both tossed out a pair.
Next week takes the guys out to Walnut Creek field E for a double header with games at 2:00 & 3:00.
